Dynamics of conceptual change in different scientific knowledge fields and production modes: a contrastive analysis.
Pluriannual Research Project (PIP) No. 58/06, CONICET
2006 to present day.

Description

This Project aims at analyzing the relations between epistemology and axiology, given the institutional structure and the dynamics of conceptual and theoretical change in certain fields of contemporary science, and at comparing these aspects with the characteristics of classical science. In relation to the internal dynamics of conceptual change in science, a model will be used that has intra- and inter-theoretical competence as the unit of analysis, and it will be applied to the case study of revolutionary conceptual change in the history of Physics, Biology, Linguistics and the social sciences. Regarding external conditioning factors, research will be conducted on the changes that took place as of the mid 20th Century in scientific and technological production modes on the basis of an analysis of interactions among scientists, between scientists and devices, and between scientists and other social actors by means of descriptions such as the triple helix model. A contrastive methodology of theoretical analysis and case studies will be used. All of this will foster the consolidation of a researchers’ network involving CONICET and national universities in these issues.

Latin America and Europe since the Enlightenment project. Critical reception and perspectives.
Cooperation Project. CONICET – CSIC (High Council for Scientific Research, Spain)
March 2004 through December 2005

Description

The Project had two main research objectives: 1) the processes of collective identity building at a national and supra-national level; 2) the role of science and technology, as well as that of scientific and academic institutions, particularly public universities, within those processes. This research instance was within the context of a cooperation agreement signed between CONICET, in Argentina, and CSIC in Spain. The respective teams held two annual meetings, one in Argentina and another one in Spain, to exchange information and discuss the results obtained.

Epistemological and institutional aspects of science: an integrated study
Pluriannual Research Project (PIP) No. 0042/98, CONICET

Description

The general objective of the Project was to develop a model to analyze the complex interactions between the epistemic and methodological aspects involved in scientific work, and the institutional aspects that characterize it. Although both, epistemological and institutional studies, are actively developed fields, their interaction has not been explored enough.
